The World Radio Conference – a global negotiation on spectrum rights happening every four years – is occurring at the end of this year (WRC-23). Satellite dominates the agenda, whether defending its spectrum from International Mobile Telecommunications, managing an increasingly active NGSO environment, or trying to respond to mobility demands. Now that the Conference Preparatory Meeting has finished negotiation of the Report for telecom ministers and regional WRC preparatory bodies to inform their decision making at WRC-23, join the Vice-Chair of the host ITU’s Radio Regulations Board and the Chair of the U.S. WRC Advisory Council as they explain what WRC-23 agenda items affect the satellite industry and likely outcomes.
