8 July 2025, Seoul, Korea — The Asia-Pacific Space Community Council (APSCC) is pleased to announce the reappointment of Terry Bleakley as President of the organization for a second consecutive term. Terry will continue to serve as President through 2027, following a successful first term that began in 2023.
Under Terry’s leadership, APSCC has entered a dynamic new phase of growth and relevance, marked by the organization’s rebranding from the Asia-Pacific Satellite Communication Council to the Asia-Pacific Space Community Council. This transformation reflects the expanding scope of the space and satellite industry in the region, encompassing not just communications but also Earth observation, space-based services, and emerging technologies.
Throughout his tenure, Terry has emphasized inclusivity, cross-sector collaboration, and member engagement. His 2025 strategic direction prioritizes:
- Membership growth, especially in emerging markets such as South Asia and Taiwan
- Enhanced educational opportunities for young professionals and early-career talent
- Innovative programming that keeps APSCC members at the forefront of industry developments
- Diversity and inclusion, with initiatives aimed at broadening participation across the ecosystem
As part of this continued momentum, APSCC 2025 will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, a growing regional hub for satellite and space innovation. The event will bring together thought leaders, innovators, and stakeholders from across the global space community.
