Vaibhav Magow, vice president at Hughes, leads the company’s broadband systems sales effort in the Asia Pacific, Middle East/Africa, Europe, and Russia/CIS regions. Vaibhav works closely with satellite operators, mobile network operators, and national and local government agencies to tailor and implement high-performing and efficient satellite solutions to help connect the unconnected and enable enterprise digital transformations.

A satellite communications and IT professional with more than 25 years of experience, Vaibhav has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, product development, marketing, and program management over the course of his career. Prior to joining Hughes in his regional role, Vaibhav focused on the Indian satellite market at Hughes Communications India, Ltd. (Hughes India).

Vaibhav earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of Pune. He speaks frequently at regional industry conferences.

Parisuthi Jinamornphongs, also known as Tom, serves as the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at THAICOM. With over 20 years of experience in the satellite industry, Tom has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth and innovation. Since joining THAICOM in 2003, he has successfully spearheaded market access initiatives and forged local partnerships across more than 10 countries in the Asia-Pacific region as part of the IPSTAR broadband satellite project.

In his current role, Tom provides strategic guidance to the company’s management, enabling informed decision-making and fostering the development of THAICOM’s core business. His efforts are focused on optimizing the monetization of the company’s satellite and orbital slot resources.

Tom holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New Haven in Connecticut, USA, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Oregon, USA. He has further honed his leadership and digital economy expertise through the Digital Economy Leadership Training Program – Digital CEO#6 at the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society in 2023, and the Harvard Leadership Development Program offered by Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning in 2019.

Paul’s efforts enhance connectivity for telecommunications firms, mobile network operators, and media content producers, solidifying AWS’s leadership in the aerospace and satellite sectors.

Before AWS, Paul held leadership roles at Kymeta and Intelsat and served 22 years in the United States Marine Corps, culminating as Presidential Communications Officer. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and three Master’s degrees with specializations in Telecommunications and Business Administration, underscoring his technical expertise and strategic insight. Recognized as a visionary leader, Paul is driving AWS’s satellite communications and AI/ML initiatives, shaping the future of global connectivity and cloud innovation in the aerospace industry.

Rizwan Parvez is currently Senior Director at Maxar Technologies, focused on Market Strategy and Business Development for Maxar’s U.S. Government Civil Space and Asia-Pacific pursuits. He joined Maxar after serving as Chief Technology Officer & founding Vice President of Engineering for BridgeComm (formerly known as BridgeSat), a start-up focused on commercializing free-space optical communications across space, airborne and terrestrial applications. Previous to that, he has held positions analyzing commercial low-Earth & emerging markets and has led engineering teams across various disciplines supporting the design, integration, testing, launch and operations of GEO communication satellites. Rizwan was a founding Board Member of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Society of Space and Satellites Professionals International (SSPI), which was established to facilitate the bridging between ‘New Space’ and ‘established Space’. Rizwan graduated in 2003 from Duke University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and has been immersed in the space and communications industry ever since.

Kenichi Shimotsuma is General Manager of Asia Regional Headquarters at SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (SJC), a satellite operator with a fleet of 16 satellites. SJC provides reliable satellite services over Asia, Oceania, Russia, Middle East and North America, and also operates Japan’s largest DTH platform, “SKY Perfect TV!”

He started his career in 1997 at Japan Satellite Systems Corporation, which later became SJC, and was engaged in Network Operations, Communication Engineering and Global Business. Prior to his current role, he was General Manager of Mobile Business Division responsible for marketing activities for maritime and aero customers. He has been in satellite industry for over 20 years.
