May 12, 2016 – The satellite sector in Asia Pacific is chronically challenged in attracting young professionals to enter the industry and this limits growth and innovation in the sector. Recently, the space and satellite industry has gained renewed visibility largely due to the efforts of a number of “Silicon Valley” and entrepreneurial efforts that has raised the profile of the segment as a potentially exciting and rewarding career path.

APSCC will hold the 1st Youth Workshop on October 6, as part of the APSCC 2016 event, with International Space University (ISU) at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur. The goal of this Workshop is to capitalize on the trends insatellite industry and increase interest among undergraduate students (in the final two years of their engineering studies) and graduate students seeking a broader knowledge of satellite communications systems, regulation and the status of the satellite industry.

This one day workshop will consist of three educational sessions on Satellite Communications: Fundamentals, Systems & Applications, Satellite Communications Regulation, and on the Satellite Telecommunications Market and a hands-on activity. Led by ISU and industry experts this will provide workshop participants with opportunities not only to learn about the industry but also to meet and be inspired by industry veterans.
