22 September 2025 – Kazakhtelecom will distribute Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellite internet service in Kazakhstan. Bagdat Mussin, CEO of the Kazakhtelecom, and the Head of Project Kuiper Worldwide Consumer, Lisa Scalpone signed the agreement today in New York, during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to the United Nations General Assembly. The agreement will allow Kazakhtelecom to provide satellite internet services based on low Earth orbit technology, ensuring high-speed connectivity even in the most remote and hard-to-reach regions of the country. Amazon plans to deploy its own ground infrastructure in Kazakhstan with stations in Almaty City and Akmolinskaya Province. Amazon will provide access to its satellite constellation and plans to invest in building ground infrastructure in Almaty, Akkol, and Aktau, as well as establishing a point of presence in Kazakhstan.
