KT SAT and Thaicom Launch After-School IT Classes at a Child Care Center in Thailand to Bridge the Digital Divide

20 December 2024 – KT SAT and Thaicom conducted IT volunteer activities at a child care center located in Lat Phrao, Thailand, over two days on December 18 and 19. The activities were carried out in partnership with Thaicom, a local satellite business operator, and with support from the KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation and Hope Friend KIA Foundation. KT SAT and Thaicom have been building a partnership to meet the increasing demand for satellite communications in Thailand. The core focus of their collaboration is to supply satellite communication networks to remote and underdeveloped areas in Thailand, such as mountainous regions and marine vessels, to bridge the digital divide. Prior to the full-scale implementation of the project, the two companies strengthened their collaboration by initiating joint volunteer activities aimed at improving IT education environments for underprivileged children.
